We are dual registered with AAU insurance which is $18.00 and USA Hockey. This allows our kids to play full ice. We also have a letter from USA Hockey saying this is allowed and we will not get in any trouble. Our team just played another full ice Mite team this morning who also is dual insured.

Do you have to show that your kids play at a certain skill level where full ice makes sense, or can this setup be done for any Mite team?

No, that is determined by coaches. The club we played had kids from different half ice clubs in the area. They offered a tryout/evaluation to those who were interested and got their team. The kids will play their normal USA Hockey half ice schedule, and will play AAU full ice when available Our club were all in house players last year and we had tryouts in April and formed our team, we are a B level time. . We will be hosting a tournament Thanksgiving weekend, please let me know if you want more information on this. I can tell you the kids have a blast playing full ice, and it gives them the opportunity to get exposed early.

We are interested. Can you help us get a full ice squad together that won't get our club sanctioned? Looks like you are part of the Atlantic District, so are we. We were under the impression that any deviation from full ice gets you bounced from Districts. Do you need to be AAU? Or can you go full ice independently?
We have our own insurance (better than USAH, not payor of last resort) on every kid and team. We also don't mind going AAU if need be.
Best contact at AAU? Best contact to get the clearance letter from USAH? Koester?
