The St Louis AAA Lady Blues are proud to announce there will be a 19U team for the 2015-16 season. The team will be conducting tryouts Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th. Tryouts will be held at Hardee's Iceplex in Chesterfield, Missouri. The cost is $50.00 and registration instructions and times can be found at www.stlaaablues.com. Click the “REGISTRATION” button on the right side of the page.
We have a core group of current Lady Blues players (all 1998 and 1997 birth year) planning to play 19U and are looking to add 5-7 additional players. We prefer to add 1996, 1997, and 1998 birth years but will consider highly skilled 1999 players.
The Lady Blues welcome out of town players to the tryouts. The out of town players do not billet but live at home and meet the team for practice weekends, games, and tournaments. Last year, of the 19 players on our 16U AAA roster, 13 of the 19 girls were out of town players. In order to practice as a team we hold five or six "Blitz" (practice) weekends in St. Louis. Blitz weekends consist of approximately 4-5 hours of ice time, off ice training, and team building/bonding activities. Blitz weekends typically start Saturday mornings and finish Sunday around noon. Players are responsible for their own off and on-ice development in their home towns.
We anticipate a highly competitive schedule at locations that will facilitate exposure to college coaches. The Lady Blues have had recent success placing girls in NCAA DI and DIII hockey programs. We have coaches and resources to help you navigate the recruiting process.
Last year we played eight of the 16 teams that qualified for The USA Hockey National Tournament. We defeated or tied six of those eight teams. Below is a tentative 2015-16 schedule:
• 5-6 Blitz weekends in St. Louis
• 3-4 Tournaments (NAHA, Minnesota Elite, World Hockey Invite, STX Windy City)
• 3-4 College Exposure Showcases (Stoney Creek, 2 Nations-Detroit and Brampton, JWHL Cup)
• 2-3 Weekends of friendly games (Shattuck St. Marys, Chicago, Madison)
• Central District Championship
• USA Hockey Nationals
We anticipate the fees for out of town players to be around $2,200. This fee covers all program fees, blitz practice ice, and game ice. Other costs that will be your responsibility are travel, meals, equipment, and uniforms.
The AAA Blues are the only Tier I program sanctioned by Missouri Hockey. The Lady Blues automatically have a spot in the Central District Championship. This guarantees the Lady Blues will compete for a spot at the Tier I USA Hockey Nationals.
